WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR BIGGEST ACHIEVEMENT TO DATE?

We rate our achievements by the level of satisfaction that our clients have upon completion of any project. By this measure, our excellent Net Promoter Score (NPS) ranking is our greatest and consistent achievement.

What is your typical day like?

  • Wake up around 7, yoga, breakfast of salad and boiled eggs
  • Then head to the office and network, network, network
  • Tend to the daily intricacies of being a small business owner such as accounting and coordination
  • Maybe sneak in a quick workout around lunch time
  • Continue with growing our network of businesses in the fintech space
  • Dinner with the family, maybe popcorn and a movie while still plugging away on my laptop responding to emails or pertinent info.

What has been the greatest challenge leading the company so far?

Building a start-up and entering a new market is never an easy feat. The greatest challenge we have faced so far is gaining visibility, credibility and trust from clients and partners. 

Our approach is to build an ecosystem of connections in the fintech area and demonstrating the value that we provide in an already saturated market.

WHAT is the biggest lesson you’ve learnt from your fundraising journey?

Thus far Speednet UK has been entirely self-funded. This has been advantageous in giving ourselves the autonomy to work and build our business in a manner that is true to our core values.

Your advice to anyone starting out as an entrepreneur?

Your overnight success will take many years to accomplish. SMART PERSEVERANCE will get you there, eventually.

By SMART I mean running Lean – Build, Measure, Learn (BML) and wherever possible fail fast. By PERSEVERANCE I mean know yourself, what you are good at and what you are not.

Fill skills and talent gaps with like-minded people, with similar goals and values. You can’t do this alone. This is a marathon not a sprint.
