On November 2nd 2022, FINTECH Circle held our annual Autumns Drinks!  And a  great time was had by all. 

Firstly, a big thank you to Chris Hill, Richard Aitchison & Louise Brett and the whole Team at Deloitte and Deloitte Legal for hosting us at their headquarters in London, wiht the event being held in a VIP private space up on  up on the 14th floor.

We enjoyed Canapes, free drinks & heard a very insightful Panel discussion on “The Future of Finance and Outlook into 2023” chaired by our very own  FINTECH Circle CEO  Susanne Chishti

The Panel, discussed topics as varied as the Challenging Fintech landscape – as it becomes more complex & startup founders have to deal with many competing priorities.

What (legal) tasks should be at the Top of a CEOs “to do list” prior to their first fund-raise (and afterwards).  Hint…. Regulations came up a lot.

Albert Soleiman who just launched CMC Invest – shared his lessons with other Intrapreneurs and Fintech entrepreneurs in attendance – as did Ekko founder Oli Cook who was also sharing his growth journey thus far.  Oli also explained that ESG is not just a “Sales” grimmick, and the panel made predictions for 2023 and what their priorities & focus areas were going to be for the next few years.

We also discussed the opportunities and risks data-rich fintech companies need to be aware of…
Answer: GDPR, Legal compliance & getting sued.

We heard the Top Legal tips to raise funds in our current environment… and finally the audience also shared their own perspectives of EIS & SEIS pitfalls and challenges in a lively open conversation.
